I think it is easier for us to face things/see things when they don't attack us head-on, but sneak inside a fantasy story and reveal themselves subtly.

I completely agree with both the quote and Eve's comment. One of the things I love about speculative fiction is that it tends to tackle the tough stuff in a very effective and entertaining way.
