Labor Day: A Verse & A Prayer

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

May God bless the working people of our nation. May our business leaders be ethical in their dealings here and abroad. May we who labor be prudent in what we do with all that we earn--dealing honestly and fairly with our employers and employees, sharing with our neighbors, saving for tomorrow, paying our taxes gratefully, helping the poor in our towns and states and across the world, investing wisely, not spending our earnings on vices when we could do good with them.

May our political leaders--in all parties--have wisdom and be given great brilliance from above in order to help find and implement sane and workable solutions to the problems of our workers so that everyone can live life with dignity and sufficiency to the end of their lives. And may God let there be jobs for all who need them, young and old, hale or disabled, so no one feels left out of the dream of self-support and social usefulness.

Here are articles on applying God's standards in the workplace. A book on applying Bible principles in the workplace. And this pocket sized reference you can keep at your desk at work offers Bible verses to guide you in various matters on the job. I still have my copy from when I worked outside the home.
